MAKITA LAUNCHES 12V MAX CXT CORDLESS THREADED ROD CUTTER

February 18, 2020, La Mirada, CA – Makita U.S.A., Inc., the innovation leader in power tools and accessories, has announced a new cordless threaded rod cutter for the 12V max CXT^® system. The new 12V max CXT Brushless Cordless Threaded Rod Cutter (CS01Z) cuts threaded rod ranging from 1/4” to 3/8” coarse thread sizes.

The CS01Z provides spark-free cutting for clean, burr-free cuts and easy threading. The CS01Z cuts installed threaded rod 1/4” and 3/8” in diameter. It will make up to 700 cuts of 3/8” mild steel threaded rod and 550 cuts of 3/8” stainless steel threaded rod with battery (sold separately).

Ideal for overhead cutting of installed threaded rod, the compact and ergonomic design enables users to keep their wrist at a straight position while operating for increased comfort. An integrated two-position rod guide helps stabilize material for precise cuts. An automatic blade stop mechanism returns the blade to an open position once cut is complete to continue operation.

Other features include an L.E.D. light to illuminate the work area, reversible double-edged cutting dies that extend the life of the blade, and a retractable hook to keep the tool nearby.

12V max CXT Lithium-Ion

CXT is the next generation in 12-volt max cordless tools. 12V max CXT gives users a more compact solution with more comfort and more capacity. The slide style lithium-ion batteries provide superior ergonomics and comfort. The CS01Z is equipped with an efficient brushless motor for longer run time, increased power and speed, and longer tool life.
