MAKITA RELEASES NEW 40V MAX XGT® and 18V MAX LXT® UNDERHOOD WORK LIGHTS

Portable, powerful, and foldable lights can be placed almost anywhere with telescopic hook

July 17th, 2024, La Mirada, CA – Makita U.S.A., Inc., manufacturer of high-quality professional tools, power equipment, and accessories, has released two new lighting solution for both the XGT® and LXT® systems. The portable, powerful, and foldable lights feature multiple lighting mode options, can rotate for more accessibility, feature long run times and multiple hanging and positioning options.

Modes of Operation

Both the XGT® model ML012G and the LXT® model DML818 are an ideal solution for users looking for a work light that can fit their needs. These Underhood Work Lights provide three modes of operation that deliver 1,700 lumens on High, 800 lumens on Medium, and 400 lumens on Low. The lights are foldable and provide three different lighting modes including upper bar only, lower bar only, as well as both the upper and lower bar illuminating for maximum light output.

Adjustable Head and Hanging Options

Users demand lighting options that can deliver where needed and the Underhood Lights for the LXT® and the XGT® system deliver on both. Both lighting options feature a telescopic hook that allows the lights to be attached to multiple surfaces including on a jobsite, a vehicle hood, a chain link fence, a lift gate on the rear of a vehicle, or any other convenient location. Users can choose from seven adjustable rotating illumination angles (-90°, -45°, 0°, 45°, 90°, 135°, 180°), which allows for flexible illumination in many applications even when attached to the telescopic hook.

Run Time

The Underhood Work Light for both the XGT® and LXT® systems delivers long run times to provide reliable lighting in all kinds of working environments. The DML18 delivers up to 31 hours of continuous illumination on low, and 6 hours on high with a 4.0Ah 18V LXT® battery (battery sold separately). The ML012G delivers up to 65 hours of continuous illumination on low, and 13 hours on high with a 40V max XGT® 4.0Ah battery (battery sold separately)

Convenience Features

Convenience features include a top hook strap that corresponds to three strap mount locations for further hanging and positioning flexibility. Both the DML818 and the ML012G feature a mode memory function that retains the last light setting when the light is powered on.
